Q. Is there any type of detection device that will detect GPS signals or GPS equipment A.There is no detector for "GPS" signals. You can use RF detectors if you have a live/real-time tracker as it emits cell phone transmission. But remember the signals can be set too many differnt intervals the RF detector would only pick up when the unit sends the data signal. You can use a DD2020 or SC1 to monitor for an RF signal TIP: this would not work on a data logger/passive tracker

A: NO it does not use AA batteries. It uses an ac adapter for all power. There is an internal battery that will allow the unit to have power for about an hour.

A: It means the video has been lost. You need to connect all the video cables securely and then the sound should stop. Making changes on alarm sound (see manual) Select signal interrupt alert sub-menu.

Q. How do I connect the recorder to my phone?

A. All recorders come with telephone accessories that will allow for telephone recording. The recorder includes a line in/out cable, a short RJ-11 cable(aka phone cord), and a phone filter. Connect one end of the line in cable to the phone filter and the other end to the microphone input jack on the recorder then remove the phone line from your telephone and connect that to the phone, take the short RJ-11 cord and connect one end to the phone filter and the other end connects to the telephone where the phone line coming out of the wall used to be. At this point you have connected the recorder and its accessories so the recorder is between the line coming out of your wall and then connecting back to the telephone (this puts the recorder in between the phone line and the telephone itself allowing the end user to record incoming and outgoing telephone conversations).

Q. Will the caller hear the recorder turn on?

A. No. The recorders make no noise on the phone line.

Q. Can I use the recorder for lectures or meetings?

A. Yes. Most digital recorders have internal and external microphones that allow the end user to record their surroundings including and not excluding lectures and meetings.

Q. Voice Activation

A. Is know as an automatic recording system (ARS). This allows the device to begin recording on its own when a specific level of sound is present. Automatic recording is a feature designed to save storage whether the end user has a digital or analog recorder. The unit will not record unless sound is present but it will not turn off either. Instead it rests idly in a stand by type mode until sound is present again, repeating until your storage has reached its maximum recording capacity.

Digital vs. Analog

Digital is certainly the wave of the future offering the ability to store more then 100 times the information in comparison to an analog recorder. Compressing the audio recordings to tiny files capable of being transferred to many different media devices i.e. computers, mp3 players ect. Digital recorders offer the ability to adjust sound qualities for desired clarity, time and date stamping for accurate notation, microphone sensitivity for record volume control, and many other features depending on the model. Analog recorders in comparison to digital recorders are limited, offer a cost effective piece of recording equipment and are the grandfathers of digital recorders. Analog recorders use cassette tapes, either standard size or miniature. Just like digital recorders they have the ability to record when connected to your telephone and also offer Voice Activated recording.

A. This would depend on the vehicle and if the vehicle supplies power when the engine is off. This unit will only record impact when power is provided. Impact is measured by force, impact range for this feature is 0.1-3.0G. Default value is 0.6G.

A. Hold the camera with the backside facing you. You will see the connection on the camera in the bottom right corner. Take the RCA cables and plug them into the camera at the left most position leaving furthest right prong unused where the RCA cables connect to the camera.

A. Press the menu button 9 times. The screen should read 32m-v-15. Then press and hold the erase button until the screen reads Fast Format. Lastly, press the play button down and scroll over to yes. Selecting yes will reformat the recorder.

Open notepad by going to Start menu, Programs, Accesories and create a file using this format:

Save file to desktop as the name
userconfig.txt this will be a .txt file.

Connect pen to your computer.

Open the drive assigned to your pen.

Copy the txt file from your desktop and paste it into this
drive you opened. This can be done by simply dragging and dropping the text file from the desktop into the drive assigned to your pen. Exit out of the drive.

*Very Important*
Do “Safely Remove Hardware” on your computer.
This makes the file save to your computer.

Repeat process each time you need
to change date and time stamp.

A. Anytime the owner and operator of the unit asks the tracking device to communicate where it is at would be considered one ping. For example: once your customer has activated their GPS device they will log into their account and from there can begin communication with the tracker to retrieve the tracker position and have it displayed in map form.

Q.Battery problems and firmware upgrade for D4000

A. Access the website and kjbsecurity.com and type D4000 into the product search box. In order to apply the upgrade, use setup in the ProductTool_5_18_080215 file folder and save the Mass Product Tool program to the desktop.

Once that is installed, open the product and click on the import firmware button. Use the browse menu and select the Voice600C_NOFM_V3.12_20080901.fw file. Double click the file that appears there. Hit the Replace button. Plug the D4000 into the USB drive and wait for the recorder to cycle through its plug and play search.

Once finished, push the download button. The file will download to the D4000 and the display on the unit will show the new firmware number 3.12. Wait for the unit to cycle through the plug and play search again, and then safely remove hardware. The firmware upgrade is complete.

A: As per the manufactures note inside the antenna on each H3100EXT: "Make sure when you plug the GPS antenna into the 3100-EXT unit that you plug it in straight and not at an angle. If you bend or break the center pin on the plug your unit will not work and a broken or bent pin is not covered under our warranty"
